How do consultation calls work?
I will respond to your request in the way(s) you specify on my Contact form. The first step is a 20-minute phone call. There are three reasons for the call:
(1) For you to get a feel for my personal style and “vibe” as you search for a therapist who’s right for you.
(2) To make sure that I offer the kind of services that fit what you’re looking for.
(3) To sort out logistics — when you can fit me in your schedule & how you’ll pay.
You won’t need to come prepared with anything other than your calendar and an interest in exploring your options!

What do sessions look like?
Sessions are 50-minutes long video calls through a platform called SimplePractice. 48 hours before your session, you will receive an email or text message with the link for the session. You can open the link through your computer’s browser, or if you’re using a smartphone, through SimplePractice’s Telehealth app ( Android | Apple ).
Sessions will be as structured or unstructured as you’d like them to be. This will be part of the groove we get into as we get to know each other!

How can I pay? Can I use insurance?
I accept insurance plans under Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Nippon, and Oscar.
If you are uninsured or your plan does not qualify, or you’d simply rather not involve insurance companies, paying out-of-pocket is always an option.
If the numbers I’ve proposed on my Contact page are outside your budget, please do not let that discourage you from reaching out. I have a sliding scale, and my whole purpose in having it is to be accessible to clients who might otherwise be too stressed by the kinds of fee levels that folks run into as they look for services.

What kind of therapy do you offer?
All sessions are offered exclusively through teletherapy at this time.
My work with individual clients is grounded in secular Buddhist psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to individual clients. I practice Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) with pairs of clients — couples, family members, and very dear friendships.

Do you work with youths? Families?
While I work with pairs within families, I do not currently offer sessions where there are more than two clients.
I also do not work with clients under the age of 18 at this time.

What are your credentials?
Since 2021, I have spent thousands of hours with clients. I completed advanced licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2024. I earned a Master of Science in Social Work (2021) and Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2015) from the University of Texas at Austin. I am EMDR trained (2025), trained in EFCT (2022-2023) and ACT (2021), and completed UT’s Integrated Behavioral Health Scholars program (2021). In addition to the 100 hours of supervision required for advanced licensure, I have participated in hundreds of hours of peer consultation in community with other therapists.
